Moss Estates sits on twenty acres of old oaks just under an hour north of Orlando, in the quiet town of Eustis. Couples come here for the look. A 150-year-old oak shading the ceremony aisle, the adjacent pergola, and the signature Tuxedo Barn with its white shiplap, black ceiling, and warm Edison bulbs. It is one of those venues where the photos almost take themselves.
I am DJ Chuck Johnson, and I have performed at Moss Estates many times. A property like this rewards a DJ who already knows the rhythm of the day, where to set up, when to cue the ceremony music, and how the room sounds when it fills up. Venue-specific experience matters because you only get one shot at every moment of your wedding day.

What Couples Should Know About the Layout and Sound
Moss Estates handles ceremonies and receptions for up to 150 guests. The ceremony takes place outdoors under the oak canopy, with the pergola a few steps away for live music or cocktails after the I-Do moment. Receptions move into the air-conditioned Tuxedo Barn, which has its own warm acoustic feel thanks to the black ceiling and shiplap walls.
The ceremony location calls for a small, dedicated outdoor sound setup that runs on battery power, no extension cords across the grass, no scrambling for an outlet. Inside the barn, sound stays contained and clean because the room was built for it. I plan loading and setup around the venue’s day-of timeline, and I am always in place at least 60 minutes before your start time.

DJ and MC Services Built Around the Moss Estates Experience
I personally DJ and MC every wedding. No subcontracting, no substitutes. At Moss Estates, that usually means a full day of service: ceremony music under the oak, cocktail hour at the pergola, then a full reception in the Tuxedo Barn with grand entrance, toasts, dinner music, and a packed dance floor.
The Tuxedo Barn already has beautiful built-in lighting from the Edison bulbs and chandeliers, but uplighting can deepen the mood after sunset and make the white shiplap glow in your color palette. Couples can read more on my uplighting page. A digital open-air photobooth fits naturally near the bar area inside the barn, and guests get their photos sent straight to their phone or email. Details are on my photobooth page.
For couples who want a final moment that surprises everyone, I also offer my Virtual Fireworks Experience, which works beautifully indoors. Every wedding I do is built around your story using my Wedding Reception Blueprint planning process, which makes sure each beat of the night, from grand entrance to last dance, lands exactly the way you want.

Frequently Asked Questions About a Moss Estates Wedding DJ
How much does a DJ cost for a wedding at Moss Estates?
My pricing is the same at every Central Florida venue. At Moss Estates, my transparent pricing applies. No venue markups, no hidden fees. Exact package details are on my pricing page.
Have you DJed at Moss Estates before?
Yes. I have performed at Moss Estates many times and know the property well, from where to load in to where the speakers belong for both the ceremony and the Tuxedo Barn. That kind of familiarity helps the day move smoothly.
What equipment do you bring to a Moss Estates wedding?
I bring professional speakers sized for the room and the guest count, a wireless mic for ceremony and toasts, my DJ mixer, and a separate battery-powered ceremony sound system so the outdoor ceremony does not depend on extension cords. I also bring full backup gear so the music never stops.
Can guests request songs?
Absolutely. I share an online planning form before the wedding so you can build your must-play and do-not-play lists. On the day, I read the room and take live requests when it makes sense, while still respecting the boundaries you set.
Do you provide ceremony sound under the oak tree?
Yes. Ceremony sound is included in every package. I set up a separate, battery-powered system for the outdoor ceremony, with a wireless mic for the officiant and processional and recessional music cued exactly the way you want.
What time will you arrive on the wedding day?
I arrive at least 60 minutes before your start time. That gives me a full setup window for both the ceremony location and the Tuxedo Barn, plus a sound check before any guests are in their seats.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. I carry two million dollars in liability insurance and provide a certificate of insurance to Moss Estates whenever they need one. Most venues require it, and I handle that step for you.
