Orlando Wedding Uplighting and Monogram Projection

My Orlando wedding lighting service covers two things. Uplighting washes your venue in color with wireless LED fixtures placed around the perimeter of the room. “Your Name in Lights” is a custom monogram projected onto the wall or the dance floor with your names, initials, or a design of your choice.

Both are $400 a-la-carte. You can pick one free with the 6-hour Popular wedding DJ package as your complimentary upgrade, or include them together in the Premium package along with the Photobooth and Virtual Fireworks.

What Is Wedding Uplighting?

Uplighting is a set of wireless LED fixtures placed around the perimeter of your venue. Each one throws a beam of color up the wall, and the whole room takes on that color. You can have one solid color all night, or I can program the fixtures to change with the moment. Your first dance gets one color, and the dance floor opens in another.

All the fixtures are cool-burning LEDs, so nothing gets hot, nothing runs on extension cords, and nothing interferes with your photographer or videographer. Wedding lighting that used to require a truckload of gear now fits in a couple of compact road cases.

What Is “Your Name in Lights”?

“Your Name in Lights” is a custom monogram projected onto a wall or onto the dance floor. I take your first names, initials, a monogram design, or a simple graphic, and turn it into a projection the size of a dance floor. It’s the same kind of light you’ve seen at hotel lobbies and award shows, except this one has your name on it.

In the industry it’s called a GOBO projection. Most couples just call it Your Name in Lights, which is exactly what it is. Either way, the effect is the same. Your reception has a piece of lighting design that only belongs to you.

Why Uplighting and the Monogram Work Together

Uplighting gives the whole room a color. The monogram gives one spot on the wall or the floor a personal moment. Put them together and the space goes from “nice reception” to “Wow! Amazing.”

Here’s the other reason couples pair them. The monogram makes your wedding photos hit different. Every overhead shot of the dance floor has your names right there in the frame. The uplighting gives the photographer a backdrop that already matches your colors without any editing in post.

How Does the Wedding Lighting Work at Your Venue?

I set up the uplighting fixtures during the same install window as the DJ gear. The fixtures are battery-powered and completely wireless, which means any venue works. Ballrooms, barns, country clubs, historic buildings, museums, hotels, and Disney-area properties. No outlet required. No cords across the floor.

The monogram projector sets up with the uplighting, and I test both before your ceremony ends. By the time your guests enter the reception, the room is already lit the way you want it.

Frequently Asked Questions About Wedding Uplighting and Monogram Projection

How much does wedding uplighting cost in Orlando?
Uplighting is $400 a-la-carte. “Your Name in Lights” monogram projection is also $400 a-la-carte. If you book the 6-hour Popular wedding DJ package at $1,595, you can pick either one as your complimentary upgrade. If you book the Premium package at $2,595, both are included along with the photobooth and Virtual Fireworks.

What’s the difference between uplighting and “Your Name in Lights”?
Uplighting washes the entire room in color using LED fixtures around the perimeter. “Your Name in Lights” is a single projected monogram that puts your names, initials, or a custom design on a wall or the dance floor. They do different jobs, and most couples book both for the full effect.

What’s a GOBO and is that the same thing as a monogram?
Yes. GOBO is the industry term for the metal or glass disc inside a projector that shapes the beam of light into a design. When people say “GOBO projection” and when I say “Your Name in Lights,” we mean the same thing. I use the couple-friendly name because nobody searches for a GOBO when they want their wedding monogram on the wall.

How many colors can you use during the reception?
As many as you want. The uplighting can hold one color for the entire reception, or I can program the fixtures to change with each part of the night. There is no per-color charge.

Do we have to pick between uplighting and the monogram, or can we have both?
You can have both. The Popular wedding DJ package at $1,595 includes one of the four upgrades. The Premium package at $2,595 includes all four, so both the uplighting and the monogram are in. If you’re on the Popular package and you want both, you can add the second one a-la-carte for $400.

Does wedding uplighting work at any Orlando venue?
Yes. The fixtures are battery-powered and completely wireless, so any venue works. I’ve done uplighting and monograms at ballrooms, barns, country clubs, museums, hotels, and Disney area properties across Central Florida. No outlet required and nothing the venue coordinator has to approve.
