DJ Services at the Longwood Community Building

The Longwood Community Building is one of those venues that feels like it was built for weddings. It anchors the historic downtown district of Longwood, on the corner of Wilma Street and Warren Avenue, and the Victorian architecture sets a tone before guests even walk inside. The sky-high vaulted ceilings, polished wood floors, and decorative lighting inside feel like a step back into a more gracious era.

I have performed often at the Longwood Community Building, and couples consistently tell me they chose it because it gives their wedding a character that newer ballrooms simply cannot replicate. Knowing the room and its quirks means the evening flows exactly the way it should from the first song to the last.

“There are so many stressful parts of a wedding, but DJ Chuck was not one of them! He was so thorough and truly listened.”
-Renee & Sam, Wedding at Longwood Community Building

What Makes the Longwood Community Building Unique?

The building spans 9,000 square feet and accommodates up to 150 to 170 guests, making it an ideal fit for all types of celebrations. The main hall features vaulted ceilings and hardwood floors, with a stage at one end that gives the DJ setup a natural, prominent position in the room. There is a catering kitchen on site, as well as separate rooms for the bride and groom to use before the ceremony.

The outdoor property includes a white gazebo surrounded by towering trees and lush grounds, which is a popular spot for outdoor ceremonies. Sound carries differently outside, so I bring a separate battery-powered ceremony system that does not depend on the building’s power. I arrive at least 60 minutes before your start time to make sure every element is ready before the celebration begins.

Services That Work Well at the Longwood Community Building

The vaulted ceilings and warm wood tones in the main hall are a perfect canvas for uplighting. A few well-placed lights can shift the mood from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception without the room ever feeling the same twice. I use wireless uplights that set up quickly and do not require running cables across the floor.

digital photobooth is always a hit at this venue. The character of the building gives guests a backdrop that feels special, and the photos become a natural reminder of the evening. Setup works well near the entrance hall or in a corner of the main room.

The Virtual Fireworks Experience is a great option for indoor venues like this one where outdoor fireworks are not part of the program. Guests are consistently surprised by how much the projected experience fills the room with energy.

Every package includes ceremony music, cocktail hour coverage, MC services, and my Wedding Reception Blueprint® planning system. You can review the FIVE, SIX, and MORE packages in full on my pricing page.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Longwood Community Building

How much do you charge for weddings at the Longwood Community Building?

My pricing is the same at every Central Florida venue. At the Longwood Community Building, my transparent pricing applies. No venue markups, no hidden fees. Exact package details are on my pricing page.

Have you performed at the Longwood Community Building before?

Yes, I have performed at the Longwood Community Building many times, including both indoor receptions in the main hall and outdoor gazebo ceremonies on the grounds. The room has a distinctive sound because of the vaulted ceilings, and knowing how to position speakers for the best coverage makes a real difference in how the evening sounds for your guests.

What equipment do you bring to this venue?

I bring professional speakers, a DJ mixer, wireless microphones, and full backup equipment to every wedding. I scale the setup to the room so it fills the space properly without overpowering it. I carry two million dollars in liability insurance and am fully licensed.

How does the outdoor gazebo ceremony work with your sound setup?

The outdoor ceremony setup runs on a completely separate battery-powered system, so I do not need to run cables from the building to the gazebo area. It is a clean, self-contained setup with a wireless microphone for the officiant included. There is no gap or interruption between the ceremony and the cocktail hour as the celebration moves inside.

Can I request specific songs?

Yes. The planning process walks you through every music moment, from the processional and recessional to the first dance, parent dances, and reception playlist. You can also note any songs you would prefer to skip. The music at your wedding is yours from start to finish.

When do you arrive to set up?

I arrive at least 60 minutes before your start time. At the Longwood Community Building, I coordinate with the venue on load-in access and timing in advance, so setup is complete and tested well before your guests arrive.
