Lavender on the Lake sits on a working flower farm and hops yard right on the edge of Lake Tohopekaliga in St Cloud. The setting is striking. A 10,000 square foot air-conditioned barn with 35-foot ceilings, three glass garage doors, twenty-foot hand-built barn doors, two enormous chandeliers, and a 175-foot dock running out into one of the best sunset views in Central Florida.
I am DJ Chuck Johnson, and having performed at Lavender on the Lake has its advantages. A space this big with this much glass and this much ceiling height is a beautiful wedding venue, but it asks a lot of a sound system and even more of a DJ who has not worked in it before. I know the room.

What to Know About the Layout, Lake, and Sound
The main barn handles up to 300 guests. Polished concrete floors, 35-foot ceilings, and walls of glass make it a stunning room and an acoustically lively one. Outdoor ceremony options include a setup beneath a massive Live Oak strung with chandeliers and lights, plus the lakefront with the dock and sunset behind you.
Sound design here matters more than at smaller venues. I size the system to the room, place speakers to keep the dance floor full and the conversation areas comfortable, and run a separate, battery-powered ceremony rig at the oak or the lakefront so nothing depends on long extension cords. I am in place at least 60 minutes before your start time, with a full sound check finished before guests arrive.

I personally DJ and MC every wedding. No subcontracting, no substitutes. At Lavender, a typical day means ceremony music outside under the oak or at the lakefront, cocktail hour around the dock or near the barn, and a full reception inside the lakefront barn with grand entrance, toasts, dinner music, and a packed dance floor under those huge chandeliers.
The barn was built for visual moments, and uplighting amplifies what is already there. Color washes along the walls and across the back glass after sunset transform the room. Couples can read more on my uplighting page. A digital open-air photobooth tucks in naturally inside the barn, and guests get their photos sent straight to their phone or email. Details are on my photobooth page.
Every Lavender wedding I do is mapped through my Wedding Reception Blueprint planning process, so each beat of the night is intentional and tied to your story.

Frequently Asked Questions About a Lavender on the Lake Wedding DJ
How much does a wedding DJ cost at Lavender on the Lake?
My pricing is the same at every Central Florida venue. At Lavender on the Lake, my transparent pricing applies. No venue markups, no hidden fees. Exact package details are on my pricing page.
Have you DJed at Lavender on the Lake before?
Yes. I have performed at Lavender on the Lake and know the room well, both the lakefront barn and the outdoor ceremony spots under the oak and out on the dock. That experience matters more in a venue with this much glass and ceiling height.
What equipment do you bring for a 200-guest wedding?
I bring professional speakers sized to the guest count and the room, a wireless mic for ceremony and toasts, my DJ mixer, and a separate battery-powered ceremony sound system. Backup gear is part of every package, so the music never stops.
Can you have the ceremony outdoors under the oak or by the lake?
Yes, and ceremony sound is included with every package. I set up a separate, battery-powered system at the ceremony location, including a wireless lavalier mic for the officiant and processional and recessional music cued the way you want.
How do song requests and do-not-play lists work?
Before the wedding, I share an online planning form where you build your must-play list, your do-not-play list, and the special moments throughout the night. On the day, I read the room and take live requests when it serves the night, always inside the lines you set.
What time do you arrive on the wedding day?
I arrive at least 60 minutes before your start time. That gives me a full setup window for both the ceremony location and the lakefront barn, plus a sound check before guests are seated.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. I carry two million dollars in liability insurance and can send a certificate of insurance to Lavender on the Lake whenever it is requested. Most venues require it, and I take care of that step for you.
