Historic Dubsdread Ballroom is one of Orlando’s most photographed wedding venues. Built in 1924 and sitting at 549 West Par Street in the College Park neighborhood, the ballroom is the original clubhouse for one of the oldest public golf courses in Florida.
The hardwood pine floors, open wood-beam ceiling, stone fireplace, and the 100-year-old oak tree out back give the property its signature character. I have performed many weddings here over the years, and Dubsdread is one of those venues where a DJ who already knows the room layout, the audio behavior, and the vendor flow adds real value.
What Does Historic Dubsdread Offer?
The property has three distinct indoor event spaces that can be booked separately or combined: the main Ballroom, the Florida Room, and a Parlor area. Total capacity across the property runs up to about 250 guests, with the Ballroom itself seating up to 200 and the Florida Room up to 100.
Outdoor ceremonies take place under the Heritage Oak, a sprawling century-old tree just off the main building. Sound-wise, the Ballroom has high ceilings and hard floors that carry music well but also pick up reflection, so speaker placement and EQ matter more here than in a draped hotel space.
Load-in is through the side service entrance, power is reliable, and the staff is used to working with professional DJ gear. It is a smooth venue to work once you know its patterns.

The Ballroom’s high ceilings and wooden beams respond beautifully to warm amber uplighting. Wall-washes along the perimeter pull attention upward and make the space feel even grander on camera. I place fixtures to avoid glare in the photographer’s shot list.
Ceremony Sound Under the Heritage Oak
Outdoor ceremonies under the oak need their own audio system. I run a separate ceremony rig with wireless lavalier microphones for the officiant and couple, tested and set before guests arrive. If the ceremony moves inside for weather, the same quality setup moves with it.
Photobooth or Projected Monogram

Yes. Ceremony sound is included or available across my packages.
