The Mulberry Estate & Gardens New Smyrna Beach Wedding

The Mulberry Estate & Gardens Wedding venue in New Smyrna Beach, Florida overview of the building

Why Does Venue Experience Matter at The Mulberry?

The Mulberry Estate & Gardens in New Smyrna Beach is a 6,000-square-foot estate-style venue on Old Mission Road, about an hour east of Orlando and a short drive from the coast.

The property is known for its oak-shaded grounds, its original 1850s barn doors pulled from an old apple orchard, and the two 23-foot live-edge bars that anchor the main space.

I have performed many weddings here, and the first thing any DJ learns about The Mulberry is that the open floor plan and the soaring ceilings change how sound behaves compared to a typical hotel ballroom. A DJ who has already solved for this room can spend the evening reading your crowd and keeping the dance floor full instead of troubleshooting a setup. That is why local, venue-specific experience is worth looking for when you hire.

The Space, The Capacity, and The Setup

The Mulberry accommodates up to 150 guests and is fully air-conditioned, so it works year-round in Florida weather. The main estate has exposed beams, high ceilings, and an open layout that lets couples flow the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception through one cohesive space.

There is also an outdoor ceremony spot under the oaks, with the estate available as a ready-made weather backup. For me, the key setup considerations are speaker placement that covers the long rectangular floor plan without over-pushing the front rows, and a power plan that respects the venue’s circuit layout.

Which DJ Add-Ons Fit The Mulberry Best?

A few add-ons pair especially well with the estate aesthetic and the way the space reads on camera.

Uplighting Along the Beams and Bars

The live-edge bars and exposed beams at The Mulberry take color beautifully. Warm amber and soft peach tones play up the wood, while cooler hues work for couples going for a more modern, minimalist look. Uplighting is available, and I place fixtures with the photographer’s angles in mind.

Ceremony Sound Under the Oaks

For outdoor ceremonies, I run a dedicated ceremony PA with wireless lavalier microphones so your vows are heard clearly by everyone, including guests at the back. When the ceremony moves indoors for weather, the same professional audio setup comes inside with me, so there is no quality drop between plans.

Photobooth and Finale Moments

The open-air digital photobooth with sign props fits naturally near the bar area and gives guests a takeaway from the evening. For a sparkler-style send-off without the fire risk or venue restrictions, the virtual fireworks experience looks striking projected inside the estate. Full package details and add-on options are on my pricing page.

Frequently Asked Questions About The Mulberry Weddings

How much does a wedding DJ cost at The Mulberry?

My pricing is the same at every Central Florida venue. At The Mulberry, my transparent pricing applies. No venue markups, no hidden fees. Exact package details are on my pricing page.

Does Chuck have experience at The Mulberry?

Yes. I have performed many weddings at The Mulberry and I know how the estate handles sound, where the outlets live, and how to stage gear so the dance floor looks clean from every photo angle. That kind of property knowledge is hard to fake on a first visit.

What equipment do you use at The Mulberry?

Professional powered speakers sized for the estate, a separate ceremony audio system for the outdoor site, wireless handheld and lavalier microphones, a backup DJ mixer, and LED uplighting fixtures when part of your package. Everything is commercial-grade gear with full redundancy.

Do you coordinate with the other vendors at The Mulberry?

Always. I check in with your planner, photographer, videographer, and catering lead as soon as I arrive. The timeline is a shared document, and a reception runs smoothly when the DJ, photographer, and planner are all in agreement on cues for grand entrance, toasts, first dances, and send-off.

What happens if the weather forces an outdoor ceremony indoors?

The Mulberry has a clean indoor backup inside the estate itself. When the forecast looks questionable, I set up both configurations so a late weather call does not delay anything. My agreement covers both plans at no additional charge.

How early do you arrive at The Mulberry?

At least one hour before the ceremony, if not more. I need time for load-in, speaker placement in a room with tall ceilings and hard surfaces, ceremony sound check outside under the oaks, and a walk-through with the planner and photographer. Rushing the setup is how small problems become visible problems, and I do not do that.
